Privacy & Cookies
Third Fin is an independent 3PL & logistics software directory. We keep data collection minimal, we ask before setting analytics cookies, and we never sell your data.
The short version
- We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how buyers use the directory — but only after you accept via the cookie banner.
- Decline and no analytics cookies are set; we still see anonymous, aggregate visit counts with no identifiers.
- We don’t run ad networks, we don’t sell or share your personal data, and we don’t build advertising profiles.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages and tools buyers find useful — pages viewed, approximate (city-level) location, device and browser type, the site or AI assistant that referred you, and on-site actions like applying a filter or clicking through to a vendor. This is aggregated to improve the directory; we do not use it to identify you personally, and IP addresses are anonymized.
We run Google’s Consent Mode. Until you choose Accept, analytics storage is denied and no Google Analytics cookies (_ga) are stored on your device. If you choose Decline, it stays that way. You can change your mind any time by clearing this site’s cookies and site data in your browser, which brings the banner back.
Security & performance
We use Cloudflare to serve and protect the site. Cloudflare’s privacy-first Web Analytics measures performance without cookies, and Cloudflare processes request data (such as IP address) transiently to block abuse. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
AI crawler & referral logging
To understand how AI answer engines cite the directory, our server records when an AI crawler (for example GPTBot, PerplexityBot, or ClaudeBot) fetches a page, and when a visitor arrives from an AI assistant. We store the bot’s user-agent, the page path, and the referring site’s domain — never personal data.
Information you send us
If you submit a profile-claim or contact form, we use the details you provide (such as your name, work email, and company) solely to verify and process that request. These aren’t used for marketing. See our verification standard and affiliate disclosure.
Who processes data for us
Google (Analytics), Cloudflare (hosting, security, privacy-first analytics), and Resend (transactional email for the claim flow). Each processes data only to provide its service.
Your choices
Decline analytics in the banner, clear cookies to reset your choice, or use your browser’s privacy controls. For any request about your data, email us at support@thirdfin.io.
